Audley Farm – Berryville, VA

Join us for an evening raising money for our community initiatives!

About the Dinner

The Root to Table Culinary Series is excited to visit Audley Farm in Berryville, Virginia.  Four hours of great food, and entertainment on a breathtaking horse and cattle farm. The Great Chefs Table is a Food Festival event where guests will meet and talk to Taste of Blue Ridge chefs and farmers while they cook at their food stations, taste their creations, and learn about their passions!

Guests can enjoy culinary demonstrations, a tour of the historic home with the history of Audley Farm, and even enjoy a conversation with young George Washington.  Relax and listen to a bluegrass band. This event is the first large-scale fundraiser for our Root to Table Community Fund with Auctioneer Marty Kable.

Our Mission – Addressing Food Challenges

The Root to Table Community Fund’s mission is to address food challenges faced by the region that Taste of Blue Ridge serves. The Taste of Blue Ridge community believes economic circumstances should not limit a healthy, well-balanced lifestyle.

By supporting the FFA (Future Farmers of America) and other youth leadership programs, we aim to educate young people on their leadership commitments to be involved with their local community. We aim to work with non-profit agencies and our local food industry to address food challenges within the area.

“One of the initial Root to Table Action Board’s goals was establishing a fund to give back to our community. I am thrilled that this is finally going to happen!”

Nancy Craun, Founder of the Root to Table Movement

About Historic Audley Farm

Historic Audley Farm was founded in 1749 through George Washington’s family. Warner Washington, George’s cousin, was the first owner of the farm. The main manor, Audley House, has been around since 1795.

“We’re primarily a two-species farm: world-class thoroughbred horses bred for racing which has been around since the 1920s. Audley Farm has bred and raised amazing racehorses, many of which have won Preakness and Kentucky Derby status fame. More recently we’ve also gone into the purebred Angus cattle business.”

If you were to visit Audley Farm today, of which the team there is very open to guests doing, you’d be greeted by a gorgeous 360-degree view of 3,000 acres of pastures, mountains, and a sweet old farm dog. It is a breath of fresh air and an experience that can’t be bought in a grocery store.
