Pastry Chef at The Conche
Chef Makayla has been honing her craft under the guidance of her mentor Chef Santosh Tiptur, the Owner of The Conche.
Makayla’s culinary career began in college while she was working on her bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Delaware State University. She graduated from college in 2018 and enrolled at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY where she pursed a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts.
After graduating, Makayla began working at The Conche in February of 2020. Within two years, she has worked her up from Pastry Cook to her current position as Pastry Chef. During that time, she focused on improving her techniques and skills. Now she is making everything from plated desserts to custom cakes.
